Soil Testing & Consulting

Find out what's actually living in your soil.

We work with Nicola Peill-Moelter, PhD — a certified Soil Food Web Consultant in San Diego County — for biological soil testing and consulting. She looks at your soil under the microscope and tells you what it needs.

Edgehill Regenerative Solutions, LLC · Poway, California

Nicola is a scientist who spent her career on climate and sustainability before turning her attention underground. Through Edgehill Regenerative Solutions she offers biological soil testing and Soil Food Web consulting across San Diego County — reading soil, compost, and extract samples under the microscope and translating what she sees into a plan the landowner can actually follow.

She and Joe collaborate on soil testing: Joe makes and applies the living compost and extract, Nicola measures the biology and guides the strategy.

    What she offers

Testing first, then a plan you can act on.

    Biological soil testing

A microscope assessment of your soil, compost, or extract — bacteria, fungi, protozoa, and nematode numbers, plus fungal-to-bacterial ratio, so you know exactly what is (and isn't) living in your soil.

    Soil Food Web consulting

A written interpretation of the results with a practical plan: what to apply, how much, and when — sequenced so the microbes you add actually survive and multiply.

    Follow-up assessments

Re-testing over the season to confirm the biology is establishing, and adjusting the plan for your site, plants, and irrigation.
